Residential school students upload their COVID-19 test results to the COVID-19 Back to Campus Assessment Tool. Information on access to the COVID-19 Return to Campus Assessment Tool will be shared with students during the week of July 27.

Students who do not submit a negative COVID-19 test result at least two business days prior to the scheduled move-in date will not receive their dormitory keys until Student Health Services has issued an authorization. Students must make arrangements to remain off-campus until this approval is obtained. What happens if my test is positive? Please note that if you receive a "COVID-19 detected" or "COVID-19 positive" test result, you will need to self-isolate for 14 days wherever you are currently off campus. Once your isolation is over, please upload a medical certificate via the COVID-19 assessment tool back on campus. You are then entitled to receive your dormitory keys. Where can I get tested? The COVID-19 PCR test is widely used in the testing sites of the Department of Health and Human Services in the United States. Supervisors should discuss with employees if they will be on leave or if remote work is an option. Additional guidance for supervisors and employees is available from USF Human Resources. If you request non-standard accommodations, you will need to register through ETS and have your properties approved prior to testing.

If I am selected for random tests but no longer intend to come to campus this semester, do I still have to report for the tests? We will assess these situations on a case-by-case basis. The surveillance strategy is designed to detect viral activity on campus, so depending on how often you come to campus, you may still need to participate in the screening program. Students with positive symptoms or tests are encouraged to seek medical help from Student Health Services (Tampa Campus) or Wellness Center (St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee Campus). Any student who tests positive must inform their teachers immediately. Faculty are encouraged to welcome sick students as well as possible. Residents are asked to return home for the recommended period of isolation.

The capacity of the emergency isolation rooms on the Tampa and St. Petersburg campuses is very limited and reserved for residential students who cannot return home safely. As of January 3, 2022, COVID-19 symptoms or positive test results should no longer be reported to assesscovid@usf.edu as this inbox will be removed. Anyone who has symptoms or may have been exposed should get tested. Positive test results are submitted from the test site to the Florida Department of Health (FDOH). As with other infectious diseases, the FDOH will only turn to the university if it believes that special measures need to be taken to mitigate the spread of the virus. It is important that every member of the USF community who comes to campus this semester completes the Campus Pass every day and responds immediately when you are contacted to contribute to our random testing program. A break is considered part of your overall test time, no extra time is added. If you take an approved break, you must hand over all test materials to the examiner before departure.
